FDRI is running an interactive innovation session at the 16th National Hydrology Symposium (BHS 2026): we want you to bring your ideas and innovations on how new technologies, data approaches and collaborative methods could advance hydrology.
This opportunity is also available to anyone who did not manage to secure a space at BHS 2026.
How the session works
1. Optional flash pitches (2 minutes)
Introduce your idea, challenge or innovation to the room.
2. Innovation Showcase & Discussion
Continue the conversation through an informal discussion around the posters, prototypes, sensors and software that participants have bought to showcase.
Bring along:
- a research challenge or idea
- a prototype or sensor you've built
- a monitoring workflow or software tool
- a telemetry or data solution
- a citizen science initiative
You are welcome to bring a poster but this is not obligatory. Feel free to take inspiration from the Example Topics in the submission brief here, other ideas are very welcome.

Deadlines:
- If you're already registered for BHS 2026: you can express your interest at any time, subject to space in the session
- If you've not registered for BHS 2026: Please submit by Thursday 31st July 2026. Once your application is approved, we'll send you a late registration link for the conference, after which you'll need to complete the registration and payment process. (conference registration fees still apply)
