Tools to enable data-driven hydrological research

We are developing a range of open source, cloud-based tools for the management of hydrological data which will be accessible within the FDRI platform, without any need to download datasets or software.

Our pipeline includes:

  • RainfallQC: an open-source python package for quality control of raingauge data
  • Time-Stream: an open-source python package for the management of hydrological time series data
  • Jupyter notebooks to demonstrate access to cloud-optimised datasets including large gridded time series datasets, e.g. extracting catchment average rainfall series
  • Jupyter notebooks to support access and use of 1m LiDAR data for hydrological applications
  • Tools for accessing FDRI ADCP river gauging data
  • Enabling simple access to FDRI online data and APIs
