The FDRI vision

To deliver FDRI's core science objectives of making a step change in our understanding of floods and droughts, collaborative science and community involvement is essential. The FDRI capacity building programme will enable collaborative working, training and skill sharing across the hydrological community for floods and droughts research.

It will instil a strong culture for community leadership and collaborative working to resolve community research questions, aligned with the UK’s levelling up agenda and leadership in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Developing plans

To realise this vision, layers of capacity building are needed from linear dissemination of information to creating new communities of practice.

Capacity building activities will cut across the FDRI observatory, digital and innovation themes and target different career stages and users across the environmental community.
